An awesome fun site!

Today my friend and I were listening to a radio program about literature in the coming decades. We were really shocked by that stuff, so we started telling my friend Archibald about it, and he interrupted:

"Oh man!.. That's amazing! I was just learning about the coming decades in class!"

But then when my friend and I got to the part about the literature, Archibald stopped yelling. And the next day, Archibald's cousin told me that the reason Archibald was so freaked out was because he used to write a lot about literature. On weekends Archibald can be quite crazy like that, but he wants what is best for me...

Christmas and the meaning of it all?

Well the time of year is here again where all the ppl who don't want Christmas to mean something complain and make a big fuss over a holiday that has been around for centuries. Now I just recently heard on the news how one state (yes this was in the US) was no longer able to call their Christmas tree in the middle of the city just that. They now had to refer to it as a Holiday Tree. Are we kidding here....things are getting out of hand. Christmas is not what it used to be when I was a child. I mean when I was a kid we helped with decorations, we got a few presents that ment something and everyone sang and played together. Now its all bout how much you spend on your children, and the true meaning of Christmas is totally forgotten.

I am terribly upset about this as Christmas used to be my favorite time of year and I always wanted my kids to enjoy and love Christmas. But now it's all about novelty items and money. It never mattered how much I got for Christmas what mattered was that it came from the heart.

Now unless kids see the big price tag on something it doenst mean anything to them. Well I say parents around the world stand up and demand your children remember why Christmas is so special. Now I wanna share with you all the story of Christmas:

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about:

His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us."

When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him."

When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. When he had called together all the people's chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born. "In Bethlehem in Judea," they replied, "for this is what the prophet has written: "'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.'" Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him."

After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.

On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.

--Matthew 1:18 - 2:23 New International Version

So there you have it....perhaps not the same as in all the stories but this is from the New international Version of the Bible so bare with me. The story might be a little different but the facts are the same.

So this is what Christmas used to be...Oh and also I forgot to mention anyone notice the OC made up a new word....Christmukka? I personally am not sure if I approve of that..but let's hope it doesn't catch on and become a permanent thing. Not that I am against Hanukkah or anything but lets not basterize those two words just to make some fanatics happy.
