Why is it that our little "angels" are not truly angels as they may appear? My daughter pictured above looks like the perfect little girl, innocent smile, bright blue eyes, yet she has a way to make me wanna tear our my hair.I am not sure why she has this way perhaps it is simply because she knows how to push all my buttons (she is my daughter after all), or perhaps it is because I see myself in her and it reminds me that perhaps my parent's were right. LOL
Ok so I have this problem, well I have many problems lol but one problem at a time. So my daughter is now spitting....yes you heard me SPITTING!
She spits everywhere and I have to blame the movie Shrek it all started with the dragon breathing fire, she imitated that and next thing you knew spit came flying out of her mouth, "wow that's pretty neat let's see what happens if I continue to do this....wow more spit". The rest is history.
Now I have tried time-outs, I have tried to put her in her room, I have even given her a light swat on the mouth when she spits...NOTHING has worked.
So I try to deal with it as best as I can, without losing too much hair and ending up bald before my husband comes home from work.
Any advice is appreciated as I have noticed a bald spot on my head. LOL

Bean used to do it all the time. I started telling her the only reason people spit is because their mouth is dirty and must need to be cleaned with soap. Put a couple drops of dish setergent on her tongue, adn before long she stopped doing it because it tasted so horrible. Dunno if itll work for you but its worth a try.
Maybe you could try making her wash her face (and whatever else is wet with saliva) everytime she does it. If she has to clean up all the time, maybe it won't be as fun.
It worked for potty training for us!
well most kids do go throught the spitting stage. Sounds like a little tomboy in there! lol. The best thing to do is not make a big deal about it. You can tell her you know I don't care if you spit but if you must then there has to be rules. Spit carries Germs and we don't want to get germs everywhere. So pick out a trash can or even outside on the porch and tell her that if she must spit that is the only place it's allowed. Before long she should get tired of going back and forth to that spot and move on to something else. Hugs~april
I've experienced the same thing. It seems that, like the tantrum, it is a way to gain attention. Once she sees that if no longer bothers you she'll quit. Then she'll move on to bigger and better things like picking her nose. Of course, while you are waitng, she'll drive you crazy! Not much hasn't been tried on me. I've got 4 kids and 5 grandchildren. Spitting is disgusting and leads to disease. This is not going to be a popular answer. Time outs loose their effectiveness. Tell her the next time she spits you are going to ignore her - give her the old silent treatmnet and then don't talk to her again until she apologized for spitting.
